Sustainability and Operations Manager
This is a local job in Burlingame, California. You must be able to commute to the office Monday to Friday from 9:45 AM to 6:15 PM. This is not a remote job.

Our mission is to create a cleaner environment by addressing the growing electronic waste crisis; through providing pick-up and drop-off recycling services to ensure end-of-life electronics are recycled securely and responsibly in the United States.
This job is with the GreenCitizen’s electronics recycling business unit. Typical duties of the Sustainability and Operations Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the Sustainability Account Management team.
Generate reports and work with the accounting department to review all pickup and fee services to prepare invoices.
Collaborate with Logistics and Reuse departments to assure materials received are directed to the correct department.
Oversee business pickup scheduling and procure the necessary paperwork required to complete pickups.
Coordinate shipments to partner recyclers.
Prospecting business with current and new customers in the SF Bay Area.
Drive consumer and business pickups and drop-offs with outreach marketing events and programs.
Process recycling drop-off items, conduct hard-disk destruction, and educate visitors about the importance and value of recycling electronics and styrofoam at the EcoCenter.
Enter SB-20 and high value electronic item details (make, model, serial, etc.) into a database for managing customer assets.
Address customer concerns in a professional manner.
Skills and Qualities:
An environment-related or business major is a big plus but not required.
Minimum 10 years of full-time work experience, with 2+ years of management experience.
Strong leadership, history of taking initiative, and going the extra mile.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiastic about environmental stewardship and social responsibility, combined with a passion for evangelizing sustainable recycling and other value-added services to SF Bay Area businesses.
Must have outstanding customer service skills, including exceptional. Communication skills in all mediums.
Able to lift 50 pounds (most items are 5-30lbs).
General understanding of electronics hardware.
Hours and compensation:
Full-time, Monday through Friday shift. Compensation is dependent on qualification.
Location:
This position is based in our Burlingame, CA, facility near the Millbrae BART and Caltrain stations. There is a free shuttle stop across the street from the BART/Caltrain stations.
